Field of Calla Lilies, Lankershim, CA.

Title

Field of Calla Lilies, Lankershim, CA.

Description

Lankershim, CA. “Field of Calla Lilies, California.” Many places in the Los Angeles area were flower farming in the 1890s-1930s. This field of flowers may not have been in Lankershim, but the card was written and sent there. Postmarked Lankershim, March 24, year illegible. The card was addressed to a Christian brother on the Hawaiian island of Molokai, and mentions Easter, so maybe that was why the writer picked a card with white lilies.
