Menu from Kandel’s Restaurant, Caterers, Delicatessen & Bakery, a Jewish Deli located at 17410 Ventura Blvd., Encino; 20825 Sherman Way, Canoga Park. Kandel’s seems to have opened between 1977 (when the Encino address was a delicatessen called Fromin’s, based in Santa Monica) and 1984, when the Valley adopted the 818 area code. Today, the Encino location is the Versailles Cuban restaurant, and the Canoga Park location may have been replaced with apartments.
