The Book That Started It All...
Our dear friend Richard Hulse published his book "Forty Crazy Years of Friendship" as a memoir to his best friend Baines Spivington, who had perished in a condominium fire. His friend left many lasting memories of a life filled with joy and adventure. Within the good times, Mr. Hulse remembers a brotherhood with Baines; trips to Germany, sporting events, and numerous road trips throughout the San Fernando Valley. In this book, we see the wonders of the Valley on display through a young man's eyes in the 1960s and 70s.
The friendship came to a halt when Baines died unexpectedly in his condominium when it caught fire. Mr. Hulse, along with many of his close friends who ran around with Baines, mourns their friend and his loss leaves heartache and many questions. Through it all though, their friendship will stand the test of time, and Mr. Hulse paints a vivid picture of love with a brother, through forty years of friendship.
