For this event, musician, magician, and actor Rob Zabrecky will read selected passages from his Burbank childhood and teen years, focusing on exploits in the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood in the 1980s, where errant teens roam free, sans supervision and GPS-tracking cellphones. Strange Cures chronicles the coming of age of a young man who wants so little to do with established society and the accepted norms of living that he doubles down on self-sabotage.
